Good afternoon sail on Lake Michigan with wind from 5 to 20 knots. We sailed close hauled, close reach, beam reach, broad reach and dead-down- wind.

Winds were blowing pretty strong (20 knots) out of the south when we docked off. We reefed the foresail and main, but shortly after we got he sails up, the winds lightened up a bit to 10 knots so we shook out the reefs. Winds “freshened” up again to 20+ knots so we reefed the foresail again and had a great sail for the balance of the afternoon. When we got back to the dock the winds were still strong, out of the south, making docking a little interesting.

We started out with full sails with winds in the 10-13 knot range, but ended up needing to reef the jib and main as winds became a consistent 15 knots for most of the afternoon.

Winds to 10 knots, waves less than 1 foot.
